Three replacement elements for TurboFyner and VM2 filters.

The original filter (RF900D) is currently not available. We have substituted the Donaldson P551001. This is approx. 2" taller but is an excellent 3 micron nominal fuel filter. There is a "water separator" function built into the element which will be minimally effective when the element is inverted as it is in the typical top-mounted filter element arrangement of a VM2. However, what it means is that the black plastic drain valve can be completely removed and then the port can be used to put some clean oil into the element when installing a new element. This can result in less air in the system, and an even easier time priming the VM2 after a filter change than ever.

Using this element ALSO means the VM2 can be mounted with the filter at the bottom. In this case, heating will not be as effective, but it will work ok in many cases. It may mean waiting a little longer to switch over in colder winter temperatures. However, it does make the VM2 a very versatile filter that can be used in almost any application!

Also, when it comes time to drain the element at filter change time, simply open the black plastic fitting a little, and it will function as an air vent, allowing the oil to easily drain out the bottom of the VM2 with the drain valve opened. No need to guess as to how far to "loosen" the element to get proper venting to allow drainage.

Donaldson makes an excellent quality filter element. This one uses their Synteq filter media.

NOTE: If height is limited and you need a replacement element that fits and is the same size as the old RF900D, use WIX 33109 or equivalent. Be sure to install the small gasket that comes with it, onto the centre post of the filter.
